The Lovely Philosophy: We believe in using organic non-gmo ingredients, because we want to extend love, and health to the whole person, not just their coils. Every batch of Lovely Coils product is handcrafted with love.
Here at Lovely Coils, we believe that all of our hair is beautiful, and all of it is good. We don't choose to use words, with negative connotations to describe our beautiful crowns of glory. We believe in wearing protective styles such as weaves, braids, wigs, and so forth not to run away from what we have naturally, but to protect it, and to have fun on the journey.
True growth takes time, and we believe that patience, and consistency is key. Find a hair regimen that works for you. Everything won't work for everyone. You are beautifully unique, and so are your coils. Some coils are very tightly wound, and some are looser than others. Coils vary in appearance, and yet all are lovely. The key ingredient to caring for all coils is the same...Love. Simply put, what you nurture will grow, just like a garden.
We believe in being proud of what the creator has given to us, and to let nothing, and no one decide how we will feel about ourselves. Our black is beautiful, and our coils are beautiful. And lastly, we do not believe in comparing our coils, or hair journey with anyone else's. Cheers to loving yourself, and your coils!
A Love letter from the founder"A Lovely Seed for the Earth"
There is often a story behind the development of products, and in the case of Lovely Coils, it’s
no different. Although this story has multiple reasons of why we do what we do, it was on my
heart to share this one. With that being said, as the founder of Lovely Coils, I desire for Lovely
to be what I would call, a seed in the Earth. Often times as human beings we are seeded with
information about ourselves, through experiences, or words of someone else, along our life’s
journey. Those seeds can go unchecked, leaving one feeling inferior, or devalued. Although this
product is predominately designed for people of African descent, I believe the root of story
applies to many.
Throughout time people of color have been sold the lie that if you look more European, you’ll be
beautiful. If one straightens their hair, and try in some way to “enhance” themselves, i.e. skin,
eyes, hair, to look different than your origination, then you’ll become more desirable, or
beautiful. As a child, I was affected by this deeply. Now as an adult woman of African descent,
my heart bleeds in anguish for people who don’t understand that what they’ve been given by
The Creator is good. Henceforth the name Lovely Coils. May it serve its purpose well in the
earth, nurturing the hair, and seeding the minds of the user, or users with the incorruptible
truth— what you’ve been given naturally is without a doubt Lovely.
Every time a bottle of shampoo is utilized, hair butter is put on the coils of a child, or growth oil
applied to a scalp, or to seal in moisture; may the seed of loveliness fall on fertile ground. Let
the seed go deep into the soul until love, and pride in oneself is full grown. Let it be full grown
like an oak tree with deep roots not easily uprooted, or tossed to and fro, or withered when
societal lies scream —you’re not good enough. Let the seed of Lovely bare good fruit, providing
security and self esteem for generations to come.
With Love,
